How to waste time fighting against an OS

MacOS Desktop

I guess there was only one OS left for me to try, huh? I’ve recently changed companies, and I could choose between a Dell with Windows or Linux, or a Macbook Pro.

I started with Linux Ubuntu.

Here’s the deal though: we use Microsoft Teams for meetings. And it just won’t work properly with Linux (whatever the distro, from what I read). The bug I was experiencing had been opened in the Microsoft Teams forum for 2 years already, with no resolution. The latest comment was 20h before I saw the forum and it was basically someone posting a prepared email stating that, because they considered their meetings to be important, they wouldn’t be using Teams and would use any other conference software instead. I didn’t want to give up but… Believe me, I really tried to solve it. After about 2 weeks trying to make my audio settings work correctly, and trying to make people understand me in Microsoft Teams, to no avail, I accepted my fate to try and use Mac (using Windows for work is akin to suicide, specially with docker, let’s not even go there).

So, here I am.
